The recent Memory Patch created by Sheson allows Skyrim to utilize more of your computer's resources.
Resource intensive mods as well as vanilla Skyrim benefit greatly from applying said patch.
We encourage you to apply the memory patch to ensure a smooth and stable game. SoT adds dynamic spawns to the your game which the Skyrim engine sometimes struggles to manifest when used in conjunction with any other mod that demands a high amount of resources as well (high-res texture packs, other spawn mods, heavy script mods). Though SoT doesn't require the patch to run, SoT may require the extra resources that are made available with this fix. If you desire to further understand the patch and how it works, you may do so by going here. In short: get the patch, thank us later.
We prevously listed three methods to incorporate the mod/patch but after our last hosting provider shut down, we are no longer posting the 2nd or 3rd methods as thoes files were lost. Method 1 was the preferred method anyway.
Due to the popularity of the memory patch, the SKSE team has implemented the patch in all versions as of v1.7.0 Alpha.
The easiest and quickest way to install the patch is using this method.
1) Download and install SKSE
2) Create an "skse.ini" file in your ...skyrimdataskse folder
3) Write the following in your "skse.ini":
[Memory]
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=512
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256
4) Save your file
Done!
